TODD CHRISTOPHER WILSON ~ Class of 1984
August 23, 1966 - August 9, 2017



Todd Christopher Wilson, age 50, passed away on August 9, 2017 after a brief and courageous battle with bile duct cancer.

Todd was born in Lynwood, California, on August 23, 1966. As a young boy, he spent his childhood running around the neighborhood streets of Norwalk, California, with his siblings. In 1976, his family moved to Richland where he graduated from Richland High School with the class of 1984. He loved to hunt with his father and brothers. He was a talented pole vaulter and participated in high school track. After graduation, Todd entered the Navy and traveled the world while proudly serving his country.

In 1997, Todd's daughter Liberty Marie was born. He embraced fatherhood with the most unselfish and unconditional love, raising Libby on his own in her early years and being the best dad to his little girl. It was a joy to see their relationship. Todd and Libby, now a college sophomore, shared a lifelong special bond from those formative years together. He was incredibly proud of the young lady Libby has become.

A new job returned Todd to the Tri Cities in 2004. It was here he met the love of his life. In 2005, he and Shawndell Plum were married and welcomed their son Lyden. Over the past 13 years, Todd worked diligently to give his family an adventurous life filled with love. Together he and Shawndell traveled around the world to exotic locales. Closer to home, the family skied many a mountain in the western United States. Todd established a tradition with Lyden, taking an annual father-son ski trip to Wyoming each December. They also enjoyed many days on the grid iron as Lyden developed his talent and love for football.

Todd was a master entertainer and cook, with a twinkle in his eye and a swagger in his step. Todd welcomed all with an open door, his big smile, big hugs and big heart. He poured so much life into his last 13 years, excelling at his job in the wine industry, surrounding himself with the kindest of friends, and building traditions that his family will always cherish. Todd lived big and loved big.

Todd touched so many souls during his all too short time on earth. We are honored to have such a wonderful man to love and remember. Family left to cherish his memory: Wife - Shawndell Wilson, Daughter, Liberty Wilson, Son, Lyden Wilson; Mother, Jean Wilson, and his five siblings - Dan Wilson ('78), Kathy Wilson Nitta ('80), Jeanine Wilson Johnson ('82), Mark Wilson ('86) and Kerrie Wilson Oliver ('88) and their spouses, as well as a large extended family.

Todd's service was held at 11 am Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Einan's in Richland.
